Duck Dynasty

A&E / Duck Dynasty Campaign

director & writer

Duck Dynasty is more of a force of nature than a show. While at A&E I was able to write, produce and creative direct on Duck during its peak seasons and these spots are some of my best work from that period.

“21 Days of Duck” was a 21-day countdown to the season premiere that featured a new piece of content released each and everyday. All 21 creatives, four of which can be seen here, were shot over the course of only two days. And while I can’t prove it, I do believe these spots are the very first pieces of marketing content to use unique hashtags as taglines. As a result, Duck Dynasty received 29M impressions on Facebook and this season premiered to 11.8M viewers, the second highest rated show in cable history and the highest rated telecast in network history at that time.

“DISH/Duck Dynasty: Gotcha!” was one of three spots in a co-branded content campaign I directed.

“Duck Dynasty: Waltons” is a parody of the old TV show The Waltons. I conceived of the concept while on a Duck Dynasty shoot and was able to grab and orchestrate this shot while on some down time. This spot was a big hit on social media garnering over 4M impressions and demonstrates you don’t need big budgets (or any budget) to make a big splash.
